A breath of fresh air has blown in the doors of our fashion emporium and its name is Malene Birger.

This eight year old company based in Denmark is relatively new in the international fashion arena but it has certainly made its mark. Malene’s vision for her brand was to offer affordable luxury that could cross the cultural divide and though these women come from different parts of the world they all share a common characteristic. They are all modern minded women who choose to express themselves in the way they dress. They appreciate Malene’s impeccable workmanship and attention to detail. 

One look at the collection and the clothing speaks for itself; it certainly spoke to me the first time I laid eyes on it.  It is sleek and effortlessly fashionable. It speaks to a woman who is sophisticated, sure of herself and wants to make a statement.  Slipping on a piece you can picture yourself strutting down the street  feeling like you’ve just walked off the cover of Vogue.

With 2011 in the not so distant past, it's a time to reflect and a time to make plans for 2012. The fashion world saw as many ups and downs as any other industry but at least we could do it looking fierce in a pair of killer heels! In the end however, we here at the House of Angelis had much to be thankful for, most importantly our clients who have supported us through thick and thin and who are genuinely wonderful people. We had our big move of Catwalk in late October, joining us with Cybil Scott creating a richer shopping  experience for all who walk in our doors. And last but not least the ever important new designers and their collections that have joined forces with us truly making us a fashion emporium right here in the heart of downtown Kingston...who would have ever thought?

That being said, 2012 is going to be the year of fun and fashionable events for the House of Angelis. We will be hosting designer trunk shows for the likes of Joeffer Caoc, Nadya Toto, Franco Mirabelli, Chantelle Lingerie and FRYE footwear. Also coming up for  Spring 2012 is our Chairity Fashion Show; an afternoon high tea sprinkled with the hottest looks and trends for the season all in support for a cause very dear to our hearts. Details to follow in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

It's Saturday October 22 and our last day here on King street. We're on the move this weekend to our new and exciting location around the corner at 65  Brock street and that's not the best part. Not only will we be next to our sister store Cybil Scott, but we'll be connected with a beautiful new archway. Now our clients will be able to experience one stop shopping at its best! Pop into Cybil for the perfect new outfit and then wander right over to Catwalk, outfit still on, to complete the look! Looking good has never been so easy.

Well its a lovely 24 degrees here in Kingston, and we're all happy to be running around in our summer sandals! Having said that, new goodies for Fall 2011 are arriving daily!  Now, I know its hard to think about that on a day like today but no fashionista wants to be scrambling at the eleventh hour for warm yet fashionable boots.

This past fall my sister and I had the pleasure of attending Fashion Week in Toronto. One of our favourites was the October 14 show of famed Canadian designer Joeffer Coac at the Brickworks.  Incredibly talented and a super nice guy, he made sure we sat front row center!  Admist the frigid weather of the almost open air building, his collection heated up the runway and made us all excited for spring. We had the same feeling when we unpacked the collection in the store. Simply chic, comfortable fabrics and shapes that flatter most body types this Canadian is a favourite at Cybil Scott!
